AI Boss Tools | Diagnostic 03 • Back to the Hub
Microsoft and LinkedIn surveyed 31,000 people across 31 countries and found four kinds of AI users at work: Skeptics, Novices, Explorers, and Power Users. Power Users save more than 30 minutes a day and have rebuilt how they work. Twelve questions tell you where you sit and exactly what would move you up a level.
The 2024 Work Trend Index found that 75 percent of knowledge workers already use generative AI at work. What separates them is not access. It is habit. Skeptics use AI a few times a month at most and save under ten minutes a day. Power Users reach for it several times a week or more, save over 30 minutes daily, and have reorganised their workday around it.
This diagnostic places you on that spectrum using four dimensions: how well you understand the tools, how often you use them, how deeply you use them, and how much your working habits have changed. It borrows a second lens from the Anthropic Economic Index: whether you use AI to think with (augmentation) or to hand work off (automation).
Answer honestly. The full report shows your weakest dimension and the single habit that would raise your type.
