AI learns patterns from human work, then predicts what comes next
A chatbot predicts the next word. An image model predicts pixels. A music model predicts sound. None of them knows you, your buyers or your culture unless you tell it.

02 · AI basics
Three levels of AI use
For work you sell as your own, stay at Assist or Co-create.
02
1
Assist
AI helps you think: ideas, research, feedback. Nothing it makes is published.
2
Co-create
AI drafts, you rework it heavily. Label it AI-assisted.
3
Generate
AI makes the final piece. Label it AI-generated. Weakest copyright, highest risk to your name.

02 · AI basics
A prompt that works has three parts
Most people leave out the limits.
02
Context
I'm a Kingston illustrator. Most of my buyers live in the diaspora.
Task
Design three digital products I could sell within 30 days, as a table.
Limits
Nothing that copies another artist. I finish every final image by hand.

Myth or fact · round 1 · green or red card
“AI understands what it makes.”
Myth
It predicts the likeliest next word, pixel or note from its training data. It has never seen a sunset.
adriandunkley.net
Myth or fact · round 2 · green or red card
“AI will replace all creatives.”
Myth
The real risk is to income, and some roles are hit far harder than others. The numbers are next.
adriandunkley.net
Myth or fact · round 3 · green or red card
“AI knows Jamaican culture.”
Myth
AI repeats the biases in its training data, including limited language diversity and the sidelining of local stories.
