Frameworks live or die in the lesson. This module is the practical core: the classroom moves that create real value, phrased so a teacher can try them on Monday.
Plan and differentiate
Ask the tool to turn one lesson objective into three versions of a task at different reading levels, then edit. You keep the professional judgement and lose the retyping. This is where teachers report the largest time saving, and it is the safest possible starting point because the student never touches the tool.
The five moves
- Make the AI the student. Have the class critique a chatbot's answer. Where is it wrong? What did it leave out? What sounds confident but is unsupported? This flips the tool into an object of study.
- Feedback on process, not product. Let students use AI for feedback on a draft, then submit the draft, the feedback, and their revision together. You are now assessing how they responded to feedback, which the tool cannot do for them.
- Socratic practice. Configure the tool to ask questions rather than give answers, so a stuck student gets a nudge, not a solution.
- Teach the citation habit. Every time AI is used, students note where and how, the way they would cite a source. Honesty becomes the norm and the tool stays visible.
- Generate to compare. Ask for two opposing arguments, then have students judge which is stronger and why. The thinking is in the judging.
The test for any classroom use: does the tool carry the part that is not the point, so the student can spend effort on the part that is? Planning and typing are rarely the point. Reasoning, judgement, and voice almost always are.
Design the task so the AI helps the learning
The best AI-integrated tasks share a shape. The student does original thinking first, uses AI to test or extend it, then reflects on what changed. A blank-page essay handed to a chatbot teaches nothing. The same essay, drafted by the student, stress-tested against an AI critic, and revised with a note on what they kept and rejected, teaches more than the pre-AI version did.

The SEE Framework is built specifically for teaching and learning with generative AI, and the Australian Framework's first principle is Teaching and Learning, using AI to support and enrich it rather than replace the learner's effort.
